While you don’t need anything minus a webcam and internet connection to start, most webcams that come built into laptops are terrible. Absolutely terrible. Invest in an HD webcam which are inexpensive nowadays with many under $100.
Any laptop should work, but if your computer is from the early 2000s, you may want to upgrade that dinosaur. This is just to ensure it won’t brick halfway through a windfall session. Initially, your laptop’s microphone will work but look into a proper dynamic microphone to deliver higher quality audio to your viewers.
If you can afford it, get proper lighting for the area you’re performing in. There is nothing worse than talking with a promising performer who viewsers can barely see! It also helps with video quality to have a well-lit area.
